Andemos “walking together” is the international volunteer and internship component of Peace and Hope International that aims to stimulate exchange and mutual learning between people from different countries, cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds, as we serve, learn, and seek justice among marginalized communities in Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, and Brasil.
We promote volunteering for people with a desire to build peace through their gifts, talents, and knowledge, putting them at the service of the projects in our local offices. These projects positively impact vulnerable communities in Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, and Brazil, where Peace and Hope works. Our goal is to unite volunteers and local leaders to create lasting change.
Join us and be part of this transformation!
Paz y Esperanza operates in six Latin American countries with the aim of supporting communities through a local approach, allowing them to determine the projects and needs to be addressed. Andemos supports these local offices, and its volunteers join to serve in these vulnerable communities, using their professional skills. This enables interns from various countries, universities, and professional interests to join this initiative to build peace and hope in Latin America.

"My experience with Andemos allowed me not only to form relationships outside of the U.S. that would not have existed without the help of the organization, but also to participate in the mission of walking alongside the communities they serve. I was able to learn, gather, and preserve stories, and work with the staff of Paz y Esperanza, who are passionate about their mission to eliminate violence and injustice"
"Fighting for justice in a country where it is distorted and oppressive gender roles have been normalized makes Paz y Esperanza a necessary beacon of light. I feel inspired and moved by the fact that the legal and psychological team in Bolivia invests their time and emotions to make this possible. I feel grateful every time I enter the Paz y Esperanza office, and I am excited to have volunteered and learned so much from the team"
"Working with Paz y Esperanza was transformative. Witnessing how PYE accompanies and serves communities through intentional relationships and community participation showed me how an organization can commit to supporting those most in need. I was deeply affected by working with women displaced by armed conflicts and seeing how the PyE team provided them with a unique space through art projects and relationship building"
"During my final semester of law school, volunteering with Paz y Esperanza in Lima, Peru, was transformative. Immersing myself in a new culture and traveling to remote villages allowed me to appreciate the resilience of the people. Helping while improving my Spanish was gratifying. The experience exposed me to the Peruvian legal system and issues of justice and human rights, fueling my passion for social justice"

Our office in Guayaquil, born in 2012. Ecuador works in low-resource, peripheral areas, creating networks for protection, treatment, and reporting of abuse as well as community empowerment and advocacy to improve systems of justice and access to healing for victims of violence. Through preventive workshops, we inspire people to a life apart from violence. Through therapeutic attention, we bring restoration and growth for victims needing to process their trauma.
The birthplace of Peace and Hope, Peru has 4 offices that highlight the diversity of the country and the work that still needs to be done. 26 years of work, between the mountains, desert, rainforest, and high valleys we are working on themes of territorial rights within indigenous territories, climate justice, access for people with disabilities, bilingual education, ecological education, education for deaf students, prevention and accompanying cases of violence, etc.
Paz Colombia was founded in 2017 just after the signing of the peace treaty between armed groups and the government. The office in Colombia focuses on accompanying the peace process in Colombia. Working in communities of displaced people as well as the communities where many were displaced from, the work focuses on peacebuilding and accompanying communities using art, sports, faith, youth and community groups.
This office opened their doors in 2012. Working now for over a decade in the lowlands of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Peace and Hope has been working on themes of prevention and attention to cases of violence. In a country where 8 of every 10 women experience some sort of abuse, we focus on education and accompanying cases through the court system to seek justice.
